I thought I’d go off planet to celebrate World Photography Day with one of my favorite images. This is totality during the total solar eclipse in 2017. (The tiny bright dot towards the lower left is not a dust spot or a star. It’s the planet Mercury.)
On this day in 1839, France bought the patent for the Daguerreotype photographic process and gave it to the world. Can you imagine?
