Primordial

Starting before the dinosaurs and revealing a continuum through geologic history of 1.5 billion years, we can trace the ebb and flow of the land back to a time when there was no life of any sort, no water and not even a trace of air. If you know how to read the rocky layers, they can tell you a lot. The Grand Canyon can be overwhelming in that way.

On this late afternoon, a couple of photographers approached me. Photographers always seem to find each other and love to talk about gear, settings and whatever you are looking at. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. On this occasion they expressed disappointment about the hazy conditions. I just said, “Yeah.”
