A bonus to hunting monsoon lightning storms is we encounter some pretty spectacular clouds and colors. Here is an end-of-the-day image made outside of Winslow, Arizona. No lightning here but a distant rain glowing in the sunset’s light and a bright partial rainbow.
The storm clouds build, they evolve and move across the landscape, the temperature changes and winds kick up as distant cells collapse. It’s just another day at the office.
