First Light

The first rays of the sun bend across the horizon to light the crest of the Sierra Nevada range. That rose hue is fleeting and only lasts for a few seconds before direct sunlight strikes it. The highest point in this image is of course, the highest point in the continental United States, Mt Whitney.
