Old Timer

This ancient Bristlecone Pine was probably living when Egypt was in its Dynastic Period some 3000 to 4000 years ago! That said, it’s the youngest thing in this image. This tree is thousands of times younger than the rocks and the surrounding mountains it grew out of. And those, in turn, are eons younger than the Milky Way in the sky behind. We live in such a fascinating world!
