Every September, the nearest Sunday to Ferdinand Porsche’s birthdate is “Drive Your 356 Day”. In case you don’t know, the model number designation of the Porsche above is the “356”. It was the first line of cars to carry the Porsche name. This iteration is a 1964, 356 C. The 356 series ran from 1948 until 1965 when it was replaced by the 911.
Also every September, the giant lawn at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California is filled with flags memorializing those who perished on 9/11/2001. Certainly, the car is trivial compared to the meaning behind the memorial, but it made for a nice composition.
