This was one of those instances when I didn’t have to leave home to get a decent shot. In fact I didn’t even leave the house! Yesterday, this Allen’s Hummingbird and his mate seemed to have been scouting the shrubs around my patio as a possible nesting site. Maybe they’ve nested already. I don’t know. Nevertheless, all I had to do was open the sliding doors enough so I wasn’t photographing through the glass. The bird did the rest.
