It was pretty much the end of fall color for these Aspens in the Eastern Sierra Nevada. I liked the stark branches contrasting with the remaining yellows and reds. This was my first stop after leaving Los Angeles very early in the morning. When I bailed out of my warm car (without my jacket) to photograph this stand of trees, I remember thinking to myself that it seemed rather chilly. I continued shooting for another 10 minutes or so before getting back into the car. I checked the outside temperature when I started the engine. It was 12 degrees (F). Next stop… Winter!
