Tangled Odds

This tangled biomass is the Big Cypress Swamp in Florida. Wading in waist-deep water where you can’t see more than a few dozen yards in any direction makes it a bad place to misplace something. I lost a lens cap. Look at the image. What are the odds of finding something like that, in that place? I didn’t even bother to look.

I did however mention to the good people at the Big Cypress Gallery that somewhere along the line on my 2 hour meander through the swamp I had lost a lens cap. They laughed. (We all laughed.) Two days later I received a call. Someone had stumbled across my lens cap and it was in the mail back to me. (Saved me $12 to replace it!) What were the odds?
