Burrowers

This little fellow is a Burrowing Owl. It lives in burrows that it either digs itself of takes over from other burrowing animals. It’s a small, long legged bird that feeds on small rodents, small birds and insects and they are fairly common in open grasslands and arid areas of the southwestern US. One nice thing about them is that they tend to be out during the day which makes photographing them a little more convenient!
