In Yellowstone National Park it isn’t hard to find the American Bison. They seem to be the most numerous of any big animal in the park. They are big, powerful and there is something exciting and primal about them. Their ancestors survived the last ice age and seeing them in vast herds is like a scene out of a mammalian version of Jurassic Park.
Here, a couple of big boys spar for a minute or so. When it’s over, they both go back to their main business of grazing on this amazing spring day.
