It’s a pretty well known spot for photographers. Not only that, but hundreds of Hollywood movies and TV programs have been filmed in this area; everything from “Gunga Din” to “Bad Day at Black Rock” to “Tremors” to countless westerns.
This, of course, is Moebius Arch in the Alabama Hills. The eastern escarpment of the Sierra Nevada shines in the morning light beyond. Framed by the arch most prominently is Lone Pine Peak. Mount Whitney, the highest mountain in the contiguous United States, is in the far distance to the right.
