The Painted Desert in Arizona’s Petrified Forest National Park didn’t look so “painted” on this particular gloomy August afternoon. Luckily we were in the perfect place for this monsoonal cloudburst a safe distance away. It was a long day in the saddle looking for lightning but when we did encounter it, the excitement of the shoot began and we forgot all about the 4 hour drive we would have to make to get back to our condo in the Phoenix area. It was a very fun day!
