An image doesn’t always need a full tonal range and eye searing color to be effective.
This was a soft morning scene on Highway 1 along the rugged California coast. There were only the sounds of distant waves and an occasional automobile far away down the road. The entire coastline was shrouded by a silvery mist moving ashore and into the steep valleys of the coastal mountains.
