I was photographing sunrise at Disney Hall, trying to capture as many colors in one image as I could. This photograph was not what I was attempting to achieve so I set it aside to work on more promising compositions.
A few months passed before I stumbled across this image again. This time I really liked the monochromatic quality of the image. You could easily imagine the heat of the rising sun rays splashing and reflecting across the structure’s metal skin. It looked like the beginning of a rather hot California day and in fact, it was.
